Adult Team

​This squad trains regularly and provides a great way to continue playing netball both for fun and competitively, in matches.  Training sessions run from 8 - 10pm at Bishop Wordsworth's School on Tuesdays.​

U12/U13 Development Squad
I really enjoy being a team member of Spire Reds because it gives us all a chance to practise and improve our netball skills with friends.  I love being in my team and we are all such good friends and have so much fun together.  We all love a challenge and practise defending and shooting, ready for our exciting matches.  Now I am a member of Spire Reds, Thursday is my favourite day of the week!" - Amelia

"I love Spire Reds because we have amazing coaches who teach us really fun, cool drills.  We can achieve so much, like jumping higher and running faster.  I have made lots of new friends.  I love it when we win matches and tournaments but when we lose, which is not very often the team is still cheery and happy for the team which has won!  I love my Spire Reds friends because we all get along so well, I feel netball brings us closer together." - Sophie​

Team Storm
"Playing netball for Spire Reds is really fun!  We play matches quite regularly and in training we do something different every week. It’s also a good opportunity to make friends outside of school.  As I was about to join a new school I wasn’t sure I would know anyone in my class but after joining Spire Reds it didn’t matter if my friends from school weren’t in my class because I had made Spire Reds friends. Everyone in the team has strengths somewhere, which also means it is not one particular person that gets "Player of the Match" every week; this makes us a stronger team.  There are many different techniques we are taught too: different centre passes; and ways of getting the ball down to the shooting end which help develop our netball skills. Not only do we all get to play netball every week but we get to have fun doing it!" - Grace

"I love netball because it's such a good atmosphere at Spire Reds.  As a team we get on well and we also get on well with the instructors.  My Spire Reds friends mean a lot to me because I have known them for a long time and we work so well together.  Spire Reds is fun and we are all very enthusiastic. We take netball seriously and always find ways to improve our skills to help us get better.  By the end of the year we would like to be able to play against teams of a higher standard.  This will improve our confidence and let us experience really good competition. We always welcome our new players, there have been quite a lot this year." - Claudia

"I love playing with Spire Reds because we have so much fun and all get along so well - in warm ups it never matters who goes with who - as everyone is friends with everyone.  Our communication as a team is brilliant and friendships are formed within the club, which continues outside of practices.  Team spirit is always evident - after every match, regardless of whether we win or lose, no-one's head goes down and we are ready to play the next match with the same energy as before.   Our coaches are all so friendly and everyone comes to each session eager to learn what the coaches will teach us this time.  Also, netball is a fantastically fun way of keeping fit." - Kitty
